  • Iqbal Day Celebrations (Nov 2013)

    Resource Academia Pre-Junior Campus paid homage to the great poet and philosopher, AllamaIqbal by organizing a special event. The program started with some very informative speeches in which students spoke about AllamaIqbal’s life and his services for the country. In the poetry recital that followed, students recited two ofIqbal’s very famous poems, PaharaurGulehriand Ma KaKhuaab.


    The most entertaining part of the program was the Bait Bazi. Two teams participated in the contest, one each comprising boys and girls from various sections of Class 3. The two teams were named after Iqbal’s very famous publications, Zarb-e-Kaleem and BangeDara. One after the other, the teams recited verses very promptly and eloquently. After a very challenging and competitive contest, it was declared to be a tie between both teams. The students of Class 3 participated in the Iqbal Day celebrations with great enthusiasm and the event was immensely enjoyed by all.


    The Headmistress, Ms.Semee Shafqat presented certificates to all the participants, while the winners also received special prizes. She praised the confidence, the excellent pronunciation of difficult Urdu words and the perfect intonation in the poetry recitation by the young students. Class 3 Urdu teachersMs.Humaira Butt and Ms.NighatMazari were appreciated for their efforts in organizing such a lovely event that paid homage to one of our most illustrated leaders, AllamaIqbal.

  • End-of-the-Year Parties (Jun 3, 2014)

    The End-of-the-Year Parties marked the conclusion of the learning experience of one complete academic year. Students and teachers were equally eager to celebrate the last day of the Academic Year 2013-2014 very enthusiastically.


    Playgroup, Nursery and Kindergarten students, all came to school dressed in their most adorable party outfits. They played games, danced and had lots of fun activities. They enjoyed the scrumptious snacks which they had all pooled together.


    Classes 1, 2 and 3 had their end-of-year party at Hardees and looked completely delightful in their trendy and stylish outfits. The energized children were accompanied by their equally excited teachers as they went to Hardees. They had a lovely time watching the Magic Show, playing in the Play Area and enjoying their appetizing meals.


    It was a fun-filled day, marking the beginning of a long-awaited Summer Break. The teachers bid them farewell with goody bags and warm wishes for a lovely summer holiday!

  • Farewell Class 3 (May 30, 2014)

    The outgoing Class 3 was bid farewell at a special ceremony on May 30, 2014, in which the students were presented special mementos; customized mugs with a lovely photograph of their Castle School and a list of the names of all their classmates. The students were given a warm send-off as they will be attending the Middle School during the next academic session. The Pre-Junior Campus will miss them and wishes them all the best!

  • Cooking and Etiquette Classes (Jan – Jun 2014)

    Cooking and Etiquette Classes at the Pre-Junior Campus have always been about learning through fun activities. While enjoying the classes, children learnt to follow instructions, carefully measure ingredients, time the baking and consequently developed their coordination and comprehension skills. 


    The delicious recipes for the second term included:


    • Refreshing drinks – Watermelon Fizz, Oreo Shake, Strawberry Smoothie.
    • Delectable desserts – Jelly Wedges, Coconut Pudding, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Ginger Bread Man, Chocolate Cake.
    • Appetizing snacks – Potato Pizzette, Cream of Chicken Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Crispy Flaky Chicken, Potato Wedges, Pepperoni Pizza.

  • Pre-School Folders - Professions & Transport (May 2014)

    Pre-School children learnt about Professions and Transport during the month of May. As children gain knowledge more quickly through interesting activities and role play, thematic teaching themes provide content and structure for organizing innovative learning activities.


    Although Pre-School children are generally aware of the basic professions, during this activity they learnt new facts about people working in various professions, such as doctors, pilots, teachers and postmen. They gained knowledge about their workplaces, outfits, tools and instruments. Children also learnt that transport is a mode for carrying people and things from one place to another. They discovered how they can differentiate between the various modes of transport, such as air, land and water transport.


    The children were able to develop skills and learn information about the topics being studied. Pre-School activities were designed in accordance with the class level, the children’s needs, their interest and their developmental level.

  • World No Tobacco Day Poster Competition (May 31, 2014)

    Cancer accounts for one in eight deaths globally. In the 20th century, the tobacco epidemic killed 100 million people worldwide. According to the World Health Organization's (WHO) 2008 report, the global tobacco epidemic will cause more than 8 million deaths every year by 2030, unless urgent action is taken. An estimated 80% of these deaths will occur in developing countries.  


    Joining the global crusade against Tobacco, Resource Academia participated in the 'No Tobacco' Poster Contest 2014 organized by ShaukatKhanumMomorial Cancer Hospital. The poster contest was in line with the 'World, No Tobacco Day' on May 31, 2014. Students from Grades 1 to O3 designed posters that highlighted the negative effects of smoking. These posters were judged by a committee and names of winners were displayed on the Hospital website. The Art teachers at the Pre-Junior, Middle and Senior Campuses are appreciated for the guidance and support that they provided to the participants.

    Mother’s Day is celebrated to acknowledge and appreciate the on-going efforts made by mothers across the globe. This gratitude and love can be expressed through flowers and cards, a fun-filled day that\\\\\'s long with pleasure, a day to both experience and remember, a day with all the joy and all the fun! This Mother’s Day, Pre School children made cute jewellery boxes and adorable photo frames in school. The children presented these little tokens to their mothers as an expression of their profound affection for them. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!

  • Pre-School Projects (Apr & May 2014)

    At Resource Academia Pre-Junior Campus, we believe that Pre-School is an excellent time to introduce children to project making. The teachers incorporate innovative projects into curricular activities, thus making learning more fun and interesting. These projects are not time-consuming or complicated, and the goal is to get Pre-Schoolers to ask questions and see if they can find ways of answering questions. Another goal is simply to get Pre-School students interested in the concept being taught. Several of these projects are related to their theme of the month. Every student contributed towards the class project by painting, cutting, pasting, Paper Mache or clay molding. The projects were related to the topics Earth Day, Mother’s Day, Solar System, Seasons, What my Little Hands can do, Transport, Recycling, Insects and Fruits & Vegetables.

  • Art for Change Art Competition by Discovering New Artists (Apr 2014)

    Students from Resource Academia Pre-Junior Campus participated in an art competition, Art for Change, organized by Discovering New Artists, a non-profit organization that aims to create opportunities for underprivileged children through education and by discovering artists within them. This contest involved participation by students all across Pakistan and included students between the ages 4 to 18 from all walks of life.


    Change has become a popular phenomenon and everyone seems to be willing to see a reformed society. Based on the belief in art as a medium for change, participants were required to base their art on the theme Pakistan Tomorrow. The contest urged children to think about Pakistan’s tomorrow and the outcome was art that provided insights into how these children see their country in the future.


    Each participant had to pay a contributing fee that will help the organization in bringing about change in the community by empowering the underprivileged children with a love for story books and an opportunity to participate in the competition free of cost. This competition also sponsored education of needy children through the proceeds generated from the registration and selling of artwork received from private school students. All participating students received Certificates of Appreciation.

  • The Second Parent Teacher Meeting (Apr 25, 2014)

    The Pre-Junior Campus held its end-of-year \'Parent Teacher Meeting\' for the Academic Year 2013 – 2014 on April 25, 2014 for Playgroup, Nursery and Kindergarten, and Classes 1 to 3. The meeting was planned well ahead of the final school examinations in May/June 2013 to provide the parents and the teachers an opportunity to discuss the problems faced by the students and plan strategies to resolve them.


    The meeting was well-attended. Parents collected academic files for Classes 1 to 3 from the front desk. These files are a record of each child\'s progress throughout the year and will facilitate preparations for the final examinations. The parents then proceeded for their meetings with the teachers. Parents and teachers optimally utilized the opportunity to confer with each other about the problems faced by various students regarding academics and devised strategies to resolve the issues.


    An elaborate Art and Project Exhibition had been organized and beautiful art work and projects brought the entire campus to life. The classrooms and corridors were a lovely sight with students\' projects, assignments and art work displayed artistically on the soft boards. Art projects included pop-up cards, fabric painting, book marks, canvas painting, still life, hand puppets, sketching and bead work. Playgroup, Nursery and Kindergarten classes followed individual themes for their projects and giveaways.


    The Principal, the Headmistress and the Academic Coordinators met parents in their offices for individual meetings.


    Promotion for Playgroup, Nursery and Kindergarten is based on an ongoing assessment.


    For Classes 1 to 3, the promotion grade will be calculated in the following manner:


    • June examination will constitute - 50%
    • December examinations will constitute - 25%
    • Monthly evaluations will constitute - 20%
    • Attendance and behaviour will constitute - 5%


    The final examinations are scheduled to begin on May 26, 2014 for Classes 1 to 3, while the Pre-School Assessments will take place from May 19, 2014.

  • Basketball Tournament (Apr 18, 2014)

    Resource Academia Pre-Junior Campus believes that sports play a very important role in the physical and mental development of its students. As part of its ongoing program for promoting a love for sports and extra-curricular activities, a special Basketball Tournament was organized for students of Class 3 on April 18, 2014. For two months prior to the tournament, the teams practiced playing the sport extensively during their sports lessons and learnt the rules, techniques and strategies of the game.


    Each of the four sections of Class 3 had its own team. The two teams from the girls’ sections competed in the first match. There was an amazing display of skill, expertise and dexterity as the girls passed the ball, dodged their opponents and scored goals. After a very close competition, one team emerged the winner. The second match between the two boys’ teams took the game to an even more challenging level. The competitiveness, the agility and the game skills were truly impressive.


    During the prize distribution ceremony that followed, the Headmistress, Ms. SemeeShafqat presented certificates to members of the runners up teams. The winning team members received individual trophies, while the winning teams’ captains and vice captains lifted the tournament trophies.

  • General Knowledge Quiz (Apr 23, 2014)

    General knowledge contributes to personal enrichment and a better understanding of the world as a whole. At Resource Academia, acquiring general knowledge is considered very significant. Teachers emphasize the importance of acquiring such skills and being in touch with the current affairs. Classes through the year have contributed towards personal enrichment and a better understanding of the world as a whole for students at the Junior Campus. Students have learnt about a diverse range of facts related to various subjects.


    A comprehensive ‘General Knowledge Quiz’ was organized for students from Classes 2 and 3, including topics from Islamiat, Science, Social Studies and Computer Studies. For each of the two participating classes, four teams were selected from each section. The quiz was based on rounds in which students participated individually and as a team. The participants and the supporters participated very enthusiastically, which created an environment of healthy competition.


    All winners received certificates and prizes from the Headmistress, Ms. SemeeShafqat, who appreciated their hard work along with the effort made by the Social Studies teachers.
